Recyclery Coffee Returns

recyclerycoffee

Recyclery Coffee is back this April! We partnered with Resistance Coffee to offer a delicious, fair-trade, organic roast. For every pound of coffee you purchase a portion will support our mission! The coffee is family farmed in Uganda and delivered by bike to your door.

The process is simple. Just email mail@chicorycenter.org and say how much coffee you want, and it will be delivered to you! Generally but not necessarily on Fridays. You can pay by cash or by Paypal.

The cost is:
$15 per pound;
$13 per pound for three or more;
$12 per pound for five or more; and
$10 per pound for ten or more.

We’ll also have it here during Open Shop or Bike Sales. Grab some for your morning commute!

About Resistance Coffee
————————–
For over ten years Resistance Coffee has brought some of the finest fair trade organic coffee to Chicago, and raised funds for organizations ranging from Radios Populares, to Cafe Chicago to the Chicago Women’s Health Center and many many more.

Resistance Coffee started out roasting beans from Zapatista communities in resistance in Chiapas, but supplies got thin, so with great support from friends at Just Coffee up in Madison, we switched to roasting the beans grown by the women of La FEM cooperative in Nicaragua. Supporting La FEM also means supporting Nicaraguan women’s ability to acquire and own land and thus take fuller control over their fates.

Now, we are roasting beans brought to us by Chicago’s own Crop to Cup, which works to address critical gaps and to eliminate exploitative middlemen in the coffee supply chain.
