The Recylery’s WTF open shop (women, trans, femme) is going on a hiatus. The Collective and shop volunteers launched this program in the summer of 2017 with great enthusiasm. We teamed up with Women Bike Chicago and CommunityCave Chicago to increase the participation and leadership of women, trans, and gender-nonconforming persons in our bike community and in cycling/mechanics in general.
In recent months, we’ve seen program attendance shrinking. Because of this, the Collective has decided to pause this program. We may restart our WTF Open Shop if community interest in it increases.
Please feel free to send us your questions, comments, and other feedback at info@therecyclery.org.
Our fifth annual Tailwind for Tools winter fundraiser is here! We’ve really come to like launching on Halloween and ending around Valentine’s day ❤
Last year was incredibly successful – we raised over $12,500!
Your generosity helped us sponsor more youth rides, donate hundreds of bikes, inaugurate even more youth programming, and continue serving the Howard area community in Rogers Park.
2020 marks 14 years since The Recyclery was born in an Evanston basement. Our goal is $14,000 – in honor of our past 14 years!
Please consider financially supporting The Recyclery’s educational programs this holiday season. Your gifts go a long way in helping The Recyclery serve our community’s cyclists. Our fundraising finale and Open House will be Valentine’s Day 2020 weekend.
