It has been a fantastic year at The Recyclery!
This summer we kicked off a youth internship program made possible by a generous donation from the West family. We hired Matthew McMunn as a volunteer and outreach coordinator. With your help, we served more patrons than ever before and gave away a record number of Freecyclery bicycles to community members in need.
We are grateful to all of our wonderful volunteers, patrons, donors and moral supporters. We could not have done it without you!
Last year you helped us raise almost $3,000, which paid for the installation of two new work benches with repair stands. This grew our capacity significantly, especially in the area of Youth Programs.
As some of you may know, the shop was robbed last year and we lost about $2,000 worth of goods. Although our insurance covered much of our losses, it lead to a few necessary safety improvements and proved our vulnerability. Thus this year’s Tailwind For Tools donations will be used to improve the safety and security of our shop. Our priorities are:
- Build a new front desk area with lock protected display case for new stock items.
- Remodel front window sale bike display.
To crown this beautiful campaign, we will end it on February 12th, just two days short of Valentine’s Day! We would like to use this day to show our love and appreciation to You – sponsor, donor, volunteer and patron.
Be ready for some lovely mingling with like-minded crowd, live music and lots of bike talk!
